The NMAM Institute of Technology and the Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte, conducted the Graduation Ceremony of the M.Tech and MBA batches of 2007-09 on 20th June 2009 at Sambhram, NET Campus. Dr.C.Rangarajan, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India, delivered graduation day address. He said that the Indian economy will grow at 6.5 percent in the current year. Though it is a sharp decline from the high growth rate achieved earlier, it is nevertheless a satisfactory rate of growth, given the world situation. He added that the impact of the global meltdown on India was felt through the two routes of trade and capital flow. Exports have shown a steep fall while capital flows have diminished. He was hopeful that world economic situation must improve substantially towards the end of 2010 even though some early signs of recovery, green shoots as they call it are visible now. He said that for accelerating growth at higher levels and translate that growth to broad based poverty reduction we must address some important challenges such as stepping up agriculture growth, inclusive development and so on.   

Prof. H.P. Khincha, Vice-Chancellor, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, delivered the chief guest’s address after handing over the course completion  certificates to the students. He said nobody can undermine the development of technology in the present world, because  it touches the life of everyone. Hence an engineering should be able to talk about technology in management terms and an MBA degree holder should understand his subject from the technological perspective.   President of the ceremony and Chancellor of Nitte University, Shree N Vinay Hegde advised students to uphold values like idealism and love for their parents and society. Principal of the NMAM Institute of Technology Dr. S. Y. Kulkarni, delivered welcome address and presented the annual report. Dr. M. S . Moodithaya, Director of JKSHIM, Nitte, presented the students for handing over of the course completed certificates of MBA. Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Vice Principal, NMAMIT, presented the M.Tech students for receiving the course completed certificates. Dr. C. Shreesha, Controller of Examinations, NMAMIT, Nitte, lead the procession. Dr. N.K. Thingalaya, Chairman of the Academic Council of JKSHIM, Governing Council Members and the Heads of the Departments were present on the Dias.
Registrar of JKSHIM, Nitte, Prof.Ramesh Karnik, proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Sudhir Raj K compered the program.
